HOW TO GET TO MERIDA, …

IF YOU ARE ARRIVING FROM CANCUN.

There are direct buses from Cancun airport or Cancun bus station to Merida which are very comfortable. The name of the bus company is ADO and they provide different services. From Cancun Airport, the buses stop in Merida is in MÉRIDA TERM PASEO 60, YUCATAN and the price of this service is about $800 MXN (around $40 USD). From Cancun bus station, the buses stop at different places in Merida but there is a service every two hours that stops at MÉRIDA CENTRO (CAME), YUCATAN. The price of this service is around $500 MXN (around $25 USD). The estimated travel time in every service is about four and a half hours.

IF YOU ARRIVE AT MERIDA AIRPORT “MANUEL CRESCENCIO REJON” (MID).

On Sunday 1st of December, there will be a reception desk welcoming you at the airport (from 10:00 to 14:00 hrs and from 16:00 to 20:00 hrs). Our staff will provide useful information and will help you to buy your ticket for your taxi. There will be two services: shared and individual taxis and their prices will be provided at the reception desk.

HACIENDA YA-AXKA

Hacienda Ya-axka, named after it characterised blue colour. A peculiar colour of the ancient Mayan cities which is represented on the mural paintings in the archaeological sites of the region. Inspired by the majesty and fascination of the haciendas of our beautiful state of Yucatan, recreating the old main houses of the henequen haciendas which reached their maximum splendour at the endo of the 20th century.

The dinner is a three course meal that includes two glasses of wine, two regionals beers, tequila, live music and round trip transportation to the city center of Merida.

The cost of the dinner is $50 USD and it can be paid at the registration desk from Sunday 1st of December up to 14:00 hrs of Wednesday 4th of December.


TRAVEL AGENCY SERVICES AT CLAPEM

There will be a travel agency at the Patio central of the venue CCU, UADY offering different visits to archeological sites, tourist attractions or natural reserves in the surroundings of Merida with special rates for participants. The name of the travel agency is Amigo Yucatan and it will be open from Monday to Friday.

Gastronomic City Tour

Enjoy Yucatecan cuisine, its artisan bakery and traditional sweets while visiting the main attractions of the city such as the Monument to the Homeland, the Cathedral, the Government Palace and the House of Francisco de Montejo founder of the city.

Chichen Itza Tour and Cenote Ik Kil

The name of Chichen Itza comes from the words of the Mayan language: “Chi” and “Chen” which mean mouth and water well and “Itza” which was the name of the tribe that inhabited this area. The guided tour of the archeological zone last approximately 2 hours, enough time to visit the main buildings including the “Kukulkan pyramid” which was named one of the 7 new wonders of the modern world on July 7, 2007, as well as the field of “Pok Ta Pok” (juego de pelota), considered the largest in the Mayan world, and the sacred cenote, where the Maya had sacrificed humans in honor of the god Chaac.

Izamal Magic Town Tour

Izamal is a beautiful colonial town founded in the mid-16th century on the vestiges of an ancient Mayan city. Its most important construction, the Conventual Ensemble of Our Lady of Izamal, was built on the ruins of a Mayan shrine called Pap-hol-chac. In 1992, Izamal received the visit of S.S Juan Pablo II, who officiated a memorable mass in the great atrium that precedes the “temple of the Purest Conception” and the “Ex-Convent of San Antonio de Padua”. Since then, most of the houses and buildings that decorate its historic center are painted white and yellow: The Vatican colors.

At the end of the visit you will visit the “Kinich” Restaurant where you will have lunch.

Uxmal Tour

Visit to the archaeological zone of Uxmal, one of the most powerful and beautiful Mayan cities. Its name means "three times built" since it had to be rebuilt three times. The guided tour of the archeological zone last approximately 2 hours, enough time to appreciate the architecture made up of palaces and buildings with multiple details.
